Seed phrase storage basics for first-time holders

Practical backup habits that keep recovery material offline and out of chat apps.

Your seed phrase is the master key to a wallet. Anyone who photographs it, copies it into a notes app, or pastes it into a “support” chat can empty the account. Treat the phrase as something you write once, store offline, and rarely move.

Paper still works when kept dry and private. Some learners prefer a metal backup plate. Either way, choose a place that is not the same drawer as your everyday laptop. Tell one trusted person where to look in an emergency, without texting the words themselves.

Never type the phrase into a website that claims to “verify” or “sync” your wallet. Legitimate educational sessions — including ours — discuss storage methods without asking you to reveal the words. If someone demands the phrase, end the conversation.

In the Recovery Habits Review we map your current routine and pick one improvement you can finish the same week. Small, boring changes beat dramatic overhauls that never get finished.
